The 'Welvaartsfonds' is an investment fund founded in 2021 by PMV, AG Insurance, Baloise, Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, Ethias and KBC in order to help Flemish companies combat the financial challenges at the time of founding (covid-19, energy-crisis). A total of €205 million was raised. Non-financial criteria for the investments include: being innovative, ethical and impacted by the aforementioned financial challenges. Investments can be done via equity, quasi-equity or subordinated loans. Tickets range between €1 and €20 million.
